The Patent Portfolio of Nuctech’s WEKNOW Series Products is Included in the First Batch of Outstanding Cases of Intellectual Property Rights in China’s Artificial Intelligence Industry
Recently, the Artificial Intelligence Industry Alliance (AIIA) released the “China Artificial Intelligence Industry Intellectual Property White Paper 2021”, and Nuctech’s “patent portfolio of WEKNOW series intelligent X-ray image recognition technology and products” case, together with cases of China Mobile, Xiaomi and SenseTime, was included in the first 10 outstanding cases of intellectual property rights in China’s artificial intelligence industry.
The recognition of images generated by traditional radiation imaging products through scanning needs to be completed by technical professionals, leaving the accuracy and efficiency of image recognition depending on the expertise level, performance and number of technical personnel.
Nuctech has been continuously developing the automated detection technology based on X-ray images and rolled out the WEKNOW series intelligent X-ray image recognition products by actively integrating emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing, Internet of Things (IoT), etc., making the transition from “artificial image recognition” to “intelligent image recognition” in security screening possible.
Focusing on the innovation paradigm of AI-powered security screening, Nuctech has been developing and protecting its IP portfolio throughout the R&D process of WEKNOW series products, covering intellectual property exploration and development in the whole life cycle of products, IP portfolio in China and the rest of the world, maintenance of intellectual property, etc., forming a patent portfolio with typical characteristics of Nuctech in the field of security screening.
The AIIA is jointly established by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) and other organizations under the guidance and support of China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission of China. As of now, the AIIA has 737 members, including Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University and other higher education institutions, as well as well-known companies such as Huawei, Alibaba, Tencent, and Baidu.
