NUCTECH and Cabo Verde’s Customs Jointly Held A Handover Ceremony of A Modern Logistics Project

On August 13, 2018, NUCTECH and Cabo Verde’s Customs jointly held a ceremony at Praia International Airport celebrating the hand over of a modern logistics project to Cabo Verde’s Customs. Du Xiaocong, Chinese Ambassador to Cabo Verde, Song Bo, Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Cabo Verde, the Deputy Prime minister and Finance Minister of Cabo Verde, and the Director-General of the State Administration of Taxation of Cabo Verde, attended the ceremony.

Ambassador Du said in his speech that since the establishment of diplomatic relations 42 years ago, China and Cabo Verde had witnessed rapid development of bilateral cooperation in various fields. The equipment which is the state-of-the-art in the world with independent intellectual property is provided by NUCTECH, a leading high-tech company in China established by Tsinghua University. These automated and digital products are widely used in China and many other countries across the world. It is believed that such equipment made in China will definitely help Cabo Verde’s Customs significantly improve the efficiency of customs clearance and trade, contributing to the economic and social development of Cabo Verde.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Cabo Verde said in his speech that the handover ceremony was of great significance, and that the security inspection equipment provided by NUCTECH would help Cabo Verde’s Customs enhance its inspection capability and efficiency and provide more efficient services to people entering and leaving Cabo Verde.

At the ceremony, the on-site project team of NUCTECH made a presentation to Ambassador Du, the Deputy Prime Minister of Cabo Verde, journalists and other guests on the security inspection equipment and automated customs clearance system that had been installed and commissioned. With these sets of security inspection equipment put in place, the equipment modernization level and comprehensive management capability of Cabo Verde’s Customs will be remarkably improved.
