NUCTECH’s Millimeter-Wave Holographic Human Body Imaging Security Inspection Equipment Passed the Level-A Certification Examination Held by the Civil Aviation Administration of China

NUCTECH’s millimeter-wave holographic imaging equipment passed the certification examination held by the Civil Aviation Administration of China and obtained the level A (top level) certificate on September 19, 2018.

In June 2018, the Civil Aviation Administration of China promulgated the Qualification and Internal Control Standards for the Civil Aviation Millimeter-Wave Human Body Imaging Security Inspection Equipment (hereinafter referred to as the “Standards”) and the Testing procedures of Prohibited Object Detection Functions of Civil Aviation Millimeter-Wave Human Body Imaging Security Inspection Equipment, officially adding the millimeter-wave human body imaging equipment to China’s civil aviation security inspection equipment list. The millimeter-wave human body imaging equipment will gradually replace metal detection doors that have been used at civilian airports for 26 years.

After the promulgation of the Standards, NUCTECH submitted the license application of using millimeter-wave security inspection equipment for civil aviation to the Civil Aviation Administration of China immediately, and established a millimeter-wave technology research project group in early 2018. Fully dedicated to the project, all team members have solved a large number of engineering and technical problems. The core indicators of the equipment have been significantly improved, making it possible for NUCTECH to pass the certification examination.
