LargeV Instrument Corp., a Nuctech Company, Wins the Red Dot Design Award for Its Innovative Ultra3D Scanner
Winners for the 2022 Red Dot Design Award, the top design award in the global industrial design sector, also known as the Oscars of the Design World, were recently announced. The Ultra3D ENT Dual-Source and Dual-Detector CBCT system developed by LargeV, a Nuctech company, won the Award, symbolizing recognition from an international authority organization for the design strength of LargeV.
As the world’s first dual-source and dual-detector cone beam computed tomograph (CBCT) system for ear, nose and throat (ENT) diagnostics, Ultra3D adopts a dual X-ray source and dual-detector scanning system to build a system combining ultra-wide-angle imaging and microscopic imaging, which upgrades the image resolution from millimeter range to ten-micron to identify the slightest difference, providing clear images for clinical diagnostics of ENT and stomatology.
In the design of Ultra3D, the design concept of “minimalism and people-oriented professionalism” was implemented. Mechanical, electrical, process materials and clinical disciplines are factored in and integrated for in-depth collaborative innovation in design. As a result, image clarity, aesthetics and practicability are made possible by the design. The silver-white color mix used for the body of the scanner and the graceful shape highlight the elegance of minimalism and the professionalism and precision in the medical field. Components of the system, such as the scanning bed that can be moved in three directions, the open scanning tunnel, the free-position platform for precise positioning, and the operation console equipped with a voice call module for doctor-patient communication, show the people-oriented design concept featured by care, trust and respect.
In recent years, Nuctech’s products have won various awards, for example, Kylin Care security check guard for pandemic control won the Red Dot: Best of the Best Award; the patented design of the Kylin CT baggage inspection system won the Industrial Design Silver Award of the China Patent Award; LargeV’s Smart3D-X 4-in-1 intelligent dental CBCT won the iF Design Award.
